9/11

9/11 is a really depressing day because the twin towers fell that day. That day i was in school and I was in first grade so I had no idea what was going on. I also remember being picked up early from school, and I heard something about buildings falling down in NYC, but other than that I didn't know what had happened. Then in later years I found out that in total 4 planes were hijacked, but only two aimed for the twin towers, the other went to DC, and the fourth one went to PA. About 2,976 people died that day .I think that we are still at war with Afghanistan and Iraq because of the 9/11 attacks. They used our planes to achieve their plans.

Earth Day

A fun fact about Earth Day is that it was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, and that more than 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day celebration.

3 Facts about Haiti:

1) Haiti became the first black republic to declare independence in 1804

2) Haiti is currently the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and has been plagued by violence

3) A natural hazard for Haiti is that it lies in the middle of the hurricane belt and subject to severe storms from June-October

Hurricane Season...

Intriguing is the word I would use to describe the movie Hurricane Season. It was really depressing to see what the people lived through after Hurricane Katrina. In the movie how they showed how the houses were destroyed and how they lost memories was upsetting. Also learning a little about what each player, and what their lives were like during and after the hurricane hit was sad. The nice thing about this movie is that the whole basketball team treated each other as family.

My Favorite Place Is....

My favorite place to go is New York City in particular Times Square. I go to New York a lot mostly because I go and visit my cousins, but I also go and see the Thanksgiving Parade, and maybe on new years to see the ball drop. What i like most about New York is that its so bright and colorful, diverse, super crowded ,and huge. You can do many things there. What I most enjoy doing in New York is going shopping there, and going to the M&M store. I've also gone to the Museum of Natural History, and I have also gone to the MoMA Museum. The coordinates of Times Square is 40 degrees N and 73 degrees W.

Hey my name is Maria and I am 15 years old. I'm an out going person, I get along easily with people, and I like to meet new people. I like to spend time with my family, hang out with friends, listen to my iPod, and shopping with people. What I do in my spare time is draw random things but mostly fashion design, I go outside and take a walk if the weather is nice, I go to the movies once in a while, and I enjoy reading a good book. T.V shows that I watch are Teen Mom, Degrassi, The Vampire Diaries, and other books. With music I will listen to pretty much anything. I would like to travel around the world because it would be interesting seeing the different cultures that are out there.
